Gonzalo Rivera new Executive Chef at Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort

Gonzalo Rivera has been appointed as executive chef at Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in South Florida, effective immediately. In his position Chef Rivera will be responsible for the food and beverage operations of the 212-room oceanfront hotel, which include Sea Grille, Beaches Restaurant & Bar, Ocean Bar and on-site catering services.

A protégé of famed chef Michael Mina, Chef Rivera has over 10 years of experience in the culinary field, which include previous positions at a number of the Mina Group top restaurants, including California’s Stonehill Tavern in Monarch Beach, and most recently, Sausalito’s Copita tequileria y Comida.

Chef Rivera assisted Mexico City’s Nemi restaurant in securing an acclaimed placement on Travel + Leisure’s list of the country’s top restaurants, a prestigious achievement in his career.

A graduate from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Chef Rivera developed a passion for cooking with Mexican ingredients at a young age, and continues to utilize these elements in his cooking today.
