M&R Hotel Management has announced the appointment of Akash Nabi as general manager of the 75-room Days Inn Jamaica – JFK Airport, one of its four hotels serving John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Nabi, who joined the hotel in 2010 as a guest services agent, advanced through progressively important roles including guest services manager, director of rooms and assistant general manager. As general manager, Nabi oversees operations, sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting.
Prior to joining M&R Hotel Management, Nabi worked in the retail food business and restaurant management. He studied at the New York College of Technology and speaks Bengali and Spanish in addition to English.
“Akash’s extensive experience at the hotel, plus his proven leadership abilities, make him well suited to be general manager,” said Brian McSherry, M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer. “I am pleased to promote a longtime team member to a position of such responsibility.”
