Arantxa Balson new Chief Human Resources Officer at Accor

Arantxa BalsonAccor has announced the appointment of Arantxa Balson as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective May 4, 2015. As part of her appointment, Balson will also become a member of Accor’s Executive Committee.

“I am thrilled that Arantxa has agreed to join Accor, and to lead and continue the work undertaken by the Human Resources teams,” said Sébastien Bazin, chairman and CEO of Accor. “Her international experience, knowledge of the challenges facing an increasingly digital world, and enthusiasm, will be essential qualities in ensuring that the transformation of Accor is a complete success.”

Most recently, Balson was Director of Human Resources at Adeo, Europe’s leading DIY and home improvement retailer. Prior to that, she held positions at Endesa, the leading electric company in Spain and Latin America, as Director of Development and HR Innovation; and Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent), holding various positions including HR Director of Lucent Worldwide Services EMEA.

Balson graduated with a degree in Educational Psychology from the Universidad de Comillas and an MBA from ICADE’s School of Management and Economic Sciences in Madrid. Balson holds a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management and Social Relations from Université Paris IX Dauphine.
