Mariam Karim new Director of Catering and Conference Services at Four Seasons Hotel New York

Four Seasons Hotel New York welcomes veteran events professional Mariam Karim as its Director of Catering and Conferences Services. Originally joining Four Seasons in 2005 at its Washington, DC address as Senior Catering Sales Manager, Mariam arrived in New York in fall 2014 after achieving success in progressive positions with other hotel companies in Washington and Atlanta.

A self-described “eventie,” Mariam’s dream of making the move to Manhattan came to life when she heard about the Hotel’s exciting plans for an all-new event space unlike any other in the city.

“FIFTY7 is very unique. It’s not a ‘ballroom’ in the traditional sense, but a ‘space’ that can be divided in thirds or occupied as a whole. The design by Pierre-Yves Rochon harkens back to IM Pei’s original concept. There is a gorgeous show kitchen built right into the room; plasma screens to display brand logos, monograms or artwork; settings for a wide array of music and entertainment; and soaring ceilings,” says Mariam.

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan and a graduate of George Mason University in Virginia, Mariam’s entry into the hospitality industry was on a dinner cruise ship, but her fascination with the creative aspects of event planning soon determined her career path.
