Marcel Oostenbrink named Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Maria Jagla, General Manager, is pleased to announce the new appointment of Marcel Oostenbrink as the new Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh.

Marcel is a second generation hotelier holding a bachelors degree from the International Hotel School “The Hague” as well as a masters degree in hospitality management from Erasmus University of Rotterdam, both of which were obtained in the Netherlands.

Marcel’s journey in the world of hospitality started as food and beverage supervisor in 2002 at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Amsterdam, after which he spent five years working in different hotels in the Netherlands, which offered him a solid experience and allowed him to earn several titles and promotions. In October 2007, after having obtained his masters degree, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts became his employer for the next seven years. He first joined the company in the Maldives as food and beverage manager at the Banyan Tree Angsana Velavaru. Then he was promoted at the Banyan Tree in the Republic of Seychelles as director of food and beverage and executive assistant manager in 2009 for two years. In 2011, he was once again promoted but this time as the resort manager of the Banyan Tree Resort in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE). For several months during his tenure in Ras Al Khaimah, Marcel was responsible temporarily for the operation of the entire Banyan Tree Langco (Vietnam) that consists of 49 private villas and 239 rooms during the departure of its area general manager.

Marcel is no stranger to the world of resorts and to Sharm El Sheikh: he participated in the management trainee program in the Hyatt Regency Resort back in 2001.
