Located in the heart of the city of squares, Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim offers a completely new hotel experience in the Palatinate’s metropolitan city. Thanks to first-rate comedians, famous German musical performers and the Pop-Academy, Mannheim also stands for creativity and urbanity unlike any other city in Germany.

“Mannheim is synonymous with innovation – with the invention of the first bicycle by Karl Drais in 1817 and world’s first automobile – combining internal combustion engine and integrated chassis – by Karl Benz in 1885. We are delighted to bring to Mannheim our very own innovation, Radisson Blu, hailed as the world’s designer hotel brand styled by Arne Jacobsen in 1960. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim complements the modern face and confident personality of Mannheim and is determined to showcase the best of the city and the strong business Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan region to the world,” says Arno Schwalie, Area Vice President for Central and Southern Europe for the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

Jörg Krauss, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim, added: “An award-winning, international hotel brand like Radisson Blu will attract a whole new league of travelers who are yet to explore the tremendous business and natural potential of a historic city like Mannheim. I have been a fan of the Rhine-Neckar region for over 25 years and that’s why I am also quite certain that Mannheim’s flair, referred to by the locals as “Monnemer Flair”, will be equally admired by tourists, who have until now only focused on Heidelberg or the Palatinate.”

The strong ties to the city are reflected in the lobby of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim. Parts of the historical city wall discovered during the construction start of the Q 6 Q 7 district now decorate the lobby of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim. Right from the start, partners, suppliers and service providers from the region were involved in the opening of the hotel. As an example, “Café Brue” is run by the Mannheim-based coffee connoisseur Helder & Leeuwen. Even the apparel of the hotel team is designed by Mannheim-based designer, Blocher Blocher Partners, and pays homage to the city’s local colors and traditions. The teams can be seen wearing sophisticated cuts in their uniforms. Blocher Blocher Partners have emphasized the use of natural materials in a monochromatic and minimalist design. A special feature of the uniform collection is a scarf that graphically turns the typical squares of Mannheim’s downtown core into a signature accessory.

The hotel has over 229 rooms including 13 long-stay apartments each with a kitchenette, six junior suites, three suites and one presidential suite. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim emphasizes city themes of urbanity and creativity with use of subtle yet uplifting use of cream colors contrasting with the dark curtains. Accents come from accessories in strong shades of blue in reference to the Rhine and Neckar rivers. Nine conference rooms are available for delegates. All seminar rooms jointly span over an area of 700 square meters, feature natural daylight and can accommodate up to 160 people at “Q7”, the hotel’s largest conference room. The bar of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim scores high with its large rooftop terrace that offers spectacular panoramic views over the roofs of the city.
