Ona Hotels has selected SiteMinder, the world’s largest open hotel commerce platform, to support the process of digitally transforming its 25-year business and consolidating its technology as it prepares for future growth.
The appointment will see Ona Hotels adopt a more dynamic pricing strategy with SiteMinder and distribute its portfolio of 8000 rooms through SiteMinder’s platform.
With the new capabilities, Ona Hotels will refocus on the experience and satisfaction of its guests.
“We want to improve the processes that will help us to accelerate our growth over the next few years,” says Nacho Barrau, CEO at Ona Hotels. “At a socio-environmental level, we are working towards the future, out of respect for our environment, out of our love for the sea and the areas in which we are present. Along this journey toward digital transformation, optimisation of tools and sustainable evolution, we want technology partners that can provide us revenue through an optimal rate distribution strategy across different sales channels. Ona Hotels trusts in SiteMinder’s demonstrated experience in the hotel sector over the years.”
Ona Hotels specialises in offering travellers hotels and aparthotels that bring out the best of the local destination, with a Mediterranean influence. Ona Hotels properties are located throughout Spain’s main travel hubs and the group has plans to expand in other parts of the EMEA region.
Since the start of the pandemic, Ona Hotels has pivoted toward a more agile business strategy. Along with adopting dynamic pricing and broadening the reach of its distribution to target new customer segments, the group has moved away from restrictive-contract-based partnerships to prioritising flexible arrangements, such as the personalised cost structures offered by SiteMinder.
Karla Brooklyn, Global Vice President – Enterprise at SiteMinder, says, “The past year has highlighted the need for hotels to be nimble, and we commend the team at Ona Hotels for embracing new ways that will ultimately set them up for greater success in the future. We’re very pleased to be a part of such a critical stage in the group’s journey, and look forward to supporting them as they prepare for the imminent recovery in travel and beyond.”
