The seventh edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit is fast approaching. Aiming to build a dynamic communicative platform that bridges the gap between leading hospitality companies, YHS will warmly welcome this year many industry masterminds and top notch talents of over 40 hospitality schools from around the world.
From the 14th to the 16th of March 2016, this international gathering of students and experts will come together at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland. It will comprise of three days of exciting workshops, inspiring speeches from industry leaders and will culminate with the challenge, provided by Four Seasons & Resorts.
The Young Hoteliers Summit 2016 will revolve around the theme of Technology and the game changers of modern hospitality. During the event, delegates and industry leaders will share ideas and join forces to solve an exciting challenge, fresh from the hospitality industry.
The Young Hoteliers Summit will be honored to give the stage to Simon Casson, regional vice president and general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Dubai at Jumeirah Beach who will share his expertise about Luxury and technology. Along with Simon Casson, other key industry players such as Heather Jacobs, Senior Vice President International and Corporate Human Resources of Four Seasons & Resorts, Director of Hotel Marketing and Corporate office EMEA also at Four Season & Resorts), Huda Malhas, director of marketing communications for EMEA at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Alex Slors, Senior Asset Manager at Global Asset Solution, will be holding panels discussions on how hospitality will manage technology to their advantage.
On the Second day, Rachel Begbie, Regional Director of Human Resources EMEA at Four Seasons & Resorts, will have the honor of announcing this year’s Challenge. It is the fourth year Ms Begbie returns to the Young Hotelier Summit and she is confident that the summit will be a success: “It is an amazing opportunity as an Employer to meet such dynamic global talent and I am sure 2016 will be no different.” She stated. “I am currently working with my colleagues from around the world to ensure that the students have a Challenge they can really get their teeth into and come up with some amazing ideas to positively influence the future of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.”
Following the end of the challenge, the results of the YHS Rankings will be announced. With the support of Qualtrics, the YHS rankings survey was conducted among hospitality students from around the globe, giving their perception on hotel companies in terms of recruitment and employment.
In the previous year, the topic of the Young Hoteliers Summit 2015 focused the transition from classical to contemporary hospitality. It has shown a great success with 29 speakers and 175 delegates, who participated to the event. The summit had the honor to host Gilian Tans, COO of Booking.com, who provided a great insight on online distribution.
With high expectations for the Young Hoteliers Summit 2016, the organising committee, composed of only students of the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne is confident that the upcoming 7th edition will be an exceptional experience for all its stakeholders. Many are those who are eagerly awaiting Monday for the opening ceremony of this remarkable event and it is bound to be a great one!
