I feel the need, the need for speed!
Our very own NZ local is flying high—David Thompson was one of hospitalities original ‘Mavericks’. In his hotel days he told it how it was and held no prisoners.
After spending several decades in the industry, David switched gears went out of his comfort zone and now runs a tech company—Book Me Bob—that is helping hospitality do customer service differently!
This week, David returned to his original stomping grounds at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) and was rewarded for his efforts.
Picking up the Business/ Entrepreneurs of the Year Award from his Alumni peers which has active community of 6,000+ hoteliers & Entrepreneurs around the world.
David took his 5 minutes of fame and gave the audience an acceptance speech not to be forgotten. He rightly painted a very bright future for the hospitality industry and part of the solution is now using technology, having courage to do things differently, take a risk and acknowledge that we are humans and we do get things wrong but its’ not the end of the world.
PS: David had 5 people then come up to him and ask what do they need to do work for his company. There is no better compliment!
