Susurros del Corazon, Auberge Resorts Collection opens today in Mexico’s Punta de Mita

Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection, a new, private beachfront escape nestled between the jungled cliffs of Punta de Mita, opens today, welcoming guests to the most spectacular beach in Punta de Mita. Meaning ‘whispers of the heart,’ Susurros del Corazón is an oceanfront oasis that blends Mexico’s vibrant culture with the playful spirit of a luxurious, laid-back surf retreat. Located north of Puerto Vallarta Airport and overlooking the turquoise waters of Bahía de Banderas, the resort will be a place that guests fall in love with and return to again and again, bringing together those who seek fun, relaxation and an exclusive Mexico escape.

“We are thrilled to expand Auberge Resorts Collection’s footprint in Mexico, giving our guests access to this unspoiled enclave along Riviera Nayarit,” said Craig Reid, president and chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Verdant bluffs and warm Pacific waves embrace a destination that beats boldly with longstanding Mexican traditions, from ancestral craft and culinary wonders to the genuine Mexican hospitality that makes this country a treasured destination for so many travelers.”

A design-inspired refuge of sun, sand and surf

Framing broad views of Bahía de Banderas, Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection is centered around three infinity-edge pools cascading down to a spectacular beach unlike any other in the region. The resort’s private beach spans 1,850 linear feet of pristine sand, perfect for surfing, swimming and paddle boarding. Destination-sensitive design, emblematic Mexican cuisine, an ocean-inspired spa and unscripted adventures offer a doorway to experience the natural wealth, textures and customs of this coastal haven.

Embodying relaxed oceanfront living, each of the resort’s 59 rooms and suites and 30 villas and homes offer indoor-outdoor spaces with private terraces and large, nature-framing windows. Abundant sunlight, natural wood furniture and artisanal textiles capture the raw simplicity of the location and spotlight Mexico’s rich craft culture through acclaimed interior designer Paul Duesing’s contemporary lens. Designed by Glazier Le Architects, open-plan layouts in rooms, suites and villas feature floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening to ocean and garden views or large private terraces, many with plunge pools, that are cooled by the breezes rolling off the bay.

“There is magic to the raw beauty and showstopping views of Islas Marietas floating on the horizon of the Pacific Ocean,” said Jose Adames, general manager, Susurros del Corazón, Auberge Resorts Collection. “The resort design and amenities are a manifestation of all the colors, sights, scents, tastes and oceanside sounds that make Punta de Mita such a spectacular location to absorb the region’s rich culture in a relaxed or active way.”

Back-to-the-land gastronomy and seafood staples infused with local flavors

A taste of authentic Mexican cuisine from land and sea is savored across Susurros del Corazón’s local eateries and epicurean experiences, where friends and family will come together to share stories over raicilla margaritas and Mexican fare. Seasonal produce from local farmers, fishermen and food suppliers are the basis for chef-plated local favorites like tacos, ceviches and tlayudas, as well as grilled classics like line-caught mahi mahi and carne asada.

At the resort’s signature, farmhouse-inspired restaurant, Casamilpa, menus take their cue from the local Huichol people who originally practiced sustenance farming. “Milpa” refers to the ancient knowledge and agricultural practices necessary to reap an abundant harvest. Open morning and night, dishes are distinctly Mexican and globally referenced. La Boquita, a vibrant, open-air taqueria where days give way to evenings with agave-forward cocktails, small bites and DJ-driven beats, offers iconic Mexican dishes fresh from the comal and breathtaking views of Bahía de Banderas.

The resort’s pools and beaches serve bright and fresh Mexican favorites including healthy salads, raw bar delicacies and hearty burgers, all accompanied by tropical cocktails in a sundrenched setting. At the adults-only pool, an in-water, swim-up bar inspired by the vibrant scene of 1960s Acapulco serves up fun, throwback cocktails and flavor-packed bites. Laidback Beach Depas takes guests from day to night with sharing plates and batched cocktails to well-mixed sundowners and elegant evening spreads laid out in the warm glow of twinkling lights. In-room private terrace dinners are inspired by Mexican family tables with homestyle recipes that are as satiating as they are delicious.

A modern beachfront playground for the free-spirited

The resort is thoughtfully designed to connect family and friends through experiences that offer discovery of Mexico’s vibrant culture and the raw beauty of this pristine stretch of beach. Sunny days are ushered in by the soft melodies of exotic birds and the relaxing refrain of rippling waves, while spontaneous adventures beckon curious explorers both big and small.

Surf safaris take adventure seekers on a private speedboat, with a personalized surfboard and a local professional surfer, to surf lesser-known beaches with consistent breaks and no crowds. Tailored surf lessons are also available on property, where waters to the left and right of Susurros beach are ideal for beginner surfers and more advanced surfers, respectively. Whale song expeditions led by a marine conservationist take guests by boat to marvel at humpback whales rising to the surface and splashing back underneath the sea. In the spring, the illustrious whales and their calves are seen playing off the shores of Susurros. Days spent on the water also include adventures snorkeling the crystal clear South Bay, exploring Islas Marietas, one of Mexico’s most enchanting natural wonders, or booking a Leopard Sail Cat Catamaran for private charter to cruise the turquoise waters of Bahía de Banderas and nearby Islas Marietas.

Adventurous foodies can partake in the Roots of Raicilla ceremony in which the centuries-old Mexican spirit, raicilla—considered the Mexican ranchero moonshine—is highlighted through three days of immersive exploration. Join the female founders of La Reina to discover raicilla—tequila’s rebellious little sister—in a sensory masterclass to explore the unique agave spirit from root to bottle. Following the masterclass, guests can join in a community dinner to indulge in an exclusive and experimental pairing led by chef Tonatiuh Cuevas. Once a month, a Raicilla Ceremony is celebrated with a local medicine woman bringing guests to delight in a spellbinding fireside ceremony to offer Raicilla back to the fire from which it was born.

At the kid’s club, Los Morritos, the resort’s youngest guests are immersed in a world of age-appropriate activities to ignite their sense of wonder and foster a connection to the local culture. With a rotating array of unique, enriching weekly programming—from Mexican folk-art classes and make-your-own tamale stations to paddling lessons with a pro and salsa classes with a local expert—littles can engage in the local culture and traditions.

Discover tradition through designer crafts

At the resort’s boutique, Fashionkind, a global, curated shopping platform founded by Sophia Bush and Nina Farran, guests will discover a selection of sustainable fashion and accessories for women and the brand’s first offering of men’s and children’s wear. Housewares and gifts round out the selection with an offering from leading designers from across Latin America, with a special focus on those local to Mexico. In-store experiences allow guests to create customized products like jewelry, hats and jackets; explore age-old traditions like hand-weaving and leather craftsmanship; and meet the makers behind the designs to learn their inspirations and receive recommendations on the best pieces for their personal style.
