Omni La Mansión del Rio and Mokara Hotel & Spa today announced the opening of Four Brothers. A contemporary, casual restaurant, this new dining experience invites guests to enjoy a fusion of traditional and modern Southern Texas cuisine, accented with Latin & French flavours.
“Four Brothers is taking a fresh approach to traditional Texan cuisine and placing its unique twist that blends classic and modern Southern cuisine with a Latin flair. Guests, locals, and travellers will revel in a vibrant and exceptional culinary experience unlike any other in the city,” says Rusty Wallace, General Manager, Omni La Mansión del Rio and Mokara Hotel & Spa. “We are excited to finally welcome this one-of-a-kind restaurant to the historic San Antonio River Walk.”
Four Brothers is a vibrant contemporary casual restaurant inspired by and named after the rich history of the Omni La Mansión del Rio. Sixteen years after the fall of the Alamo, in 1836, four brothers of the Society of Mary arrived in San Antonio to establish a school. Brothers John Baptist Laignoux, Nicholas Koenig, Xavier Mauclerc and Andrew Edel began constructing a limestone building on College Street. The bells of the new school, originally known as St. Mary’s institute, tolled for the first time on March 1, 1853. This building later opened its doors as the first luxury hotel on the San Antonio River Walk in April of 1968, known by the locals as “La Mansión.”
Four Brothers have been reconfigured to allow for more diverse social gatherings with different seating options in the main dining room and adjoining lounge. This variety creates a deeper connection to the Riverwalk and the hotel’s courtyard with its many amenities. Texas regional influences can be recognized even in the finest details, from the artwork down to the floor finishes at the newly transformed restaurant. The ambience maintains a sense of sophistication and cultural appreciation within its new home at Omni La Mansión del Rio.
Dining Concept
Located in the heart of the San Antonio River Walk, Omni La Mansión del Rio transformed the previous Las Canarias restaurant and revamped its food and beverage program into the highly anticipated restaurant, Four Brothers. The culinary team led by Executive Chef Andres Farias incorporates ingredients that include locally sourced proteins to create dishes that reflect the current styles – seasonally and aesthetically.
Four Brothers is a full-service, a la carte menu restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu highlights include shareable items like a 48oz Tomahawk Ribeye and Market Big Fish that aim to please family-style dining; Chili Queens Chili, our twist on a San Antonio historic cuisine with American Wagyu Beef; Big Gulf Camarones featuring blue corn grits will be a crowd pleaser, and The Bone in lamb shank, a dish that requires 72 hours of preparation.
Additionally, the new wine and beverage programs will showcase riffs and twists on classic cocktails with an eclectic selection of wines from several regions. Led by Food & Beverage Director Edward Parker, the team will incorporate earthy, botanical, and spiced flavour profiles into a cocktail menu with something for everyone.
“The new dining experience at Four Brothers will elevate the San Antonio culinary scene by incorporating a Latin twist on storied dishes and French undertones paying homage to the four founding brothers,” said Edward Parker, Food and Beverage Director, Omni La Mansión del Rio and Mokara Hotel & Spa.
