ATIC and ReviewPro leverage guest feedback to support Australian tourism

The Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) and ReviewPro, a Shiji Group brand, are working together to support and recognize excellence within Australian tourism according to guest feedback data.

ATIC’s long-standing benchmarking system – the Quality Tourism Framework – is currently based on three pillars: accreditation, star ratings and awards. This year, for the first time, consumer reviews will be an integral part of the system, with data provided by long-standing partners ReviewPro, world leaders in guest intelligence.

“Introducing a consumer-driven element makes for a more robust awards program. Guest feedback is vital because it provides valuable insights to help guide and support businesses to continually improve”, says Erin McLeod, National Manager at ATIC, “We are really looking forward to this new initiative which helps provide Australian tourism with the attention it deserves. ReviewPro is a long-standing partner that fits perfectly within our core objectives, and we are delighted to extend the scope of our work together.”

Currently, ATIC members have access to a version of the ReviewPro dashboard where they can measure their online reputation, benchmark themselves against industry group averages, and view real guest feedback, whether that be the breakdown of written reviews as provided by semantic analysis or satisfaction ratings left by consumers. The dashboard helps to maintain engagement from users and also provides the analytical capabilities so businesses can aggregate and view guest feedback, make data driven improvements, and then measure the results.

“We are delighted to be able to deliver data to ATIC members to support the awards system and contribute to the continuous development of Australian tourism,” says Michael Kessler, CEO of ReviewPro. “We are fully aligned with ATICs objectives – providing the insights needed for businesses to improve their offering and ultimately create better quality tourism experiences for travelers in the Australian market.”

The ATIC’s accreditation and awards system has been running for over 30 years and has recently opened its 2021 nomination period, with the results of the states & territories awards to be announced in November, and national winners announced in early 2022. The 2021 Australian Tourism Awards will be held on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
