Auberge Resorts Collection, the world’s leading brand of one-of-a-kind hotels, resorts and residences, is pleased to announce four new leadership appointments. Tijs Klerx, Marco Bustamante, Bryan Woody and Caitlin McConnell have been promoted to vice president in their respective fields of operations, food and beverage and marketing. These key leadership positions will support Auberge Resorts Collection as the brand continues to strengthen new and existing properties and thoughtfully expand in Europe, urban markets and beyond. Each of these respected team members share Auberge Resorts Collection’s vision to create extraordinary, one-of-a-kind properties and experiences that reflect the local destination.
- Tijs Klerx has been promoted to Vice President of Operations, Openings & Transitions. Klerx joined the brand in 2022 and helped successfully open Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection (Hudson Valley, N.Y.). With his support, the property has become one of the brand’s most successful openings to date, having been awarded top honors by AFAR, Conde Nast Traveler, Esquire, Travel + Leisure and more within its first six months of opening. Klerx has worked across various disciplines to develop new tools and streamline processes that will support Auberge Resorts Collection’s growth trajectory. Over the next few years, Klerx will help lead several of the brand’s highly-anticipated new openings, including Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection (Fort Worth, Texas), The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection (Kiawah River, S.C.) and Shell Bay, Auberge Resorts Collection (Greater Miami, Fla., in addition to providing oversight to Auberge’s three other Northeast hotels. Prior to joining Auberge, Klerx opened several hotels with Viceroy Hotels & Resorts and was general manager of The West Hollywood EDITION.
- Marco Bustamante, who started his tenure with Auberge Resorts Collection in 2016, has been promoted to Vice President of Food & Beverage. Throughout his seven years with the brand, he has led the opening teams of the award-winning Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection (Los Cabos, Mexico) and Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection (Austin, Texas), which was named no. 1 hotel in Texas by Travel + Leisure. He has also served as interim general manager of Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection (Litchfield County, Conn.) and group director of operations at the brand’s home office in Mill Valley. With a strong background in culinary, he oversaw the successful restaurant openings of Lutie’s at Commodore Perry Estate and COMAL at Chileno Bay, both of which reign among the most sought-after dining establishments in their respective destinations. Bustamate also brings experience working with three Michelin Star restaurants in New York City and a prestigious culinary education from The French Culinary Institute.
- Bryan Woody has been promoted to Regional Vice President of Auberge Resorts Collection. In this new role, Woody will oversee the brand’s destinations in the Rockies, including Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection (Deer Valley, Utah), The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection (Park City, Utah) and Sleeping Indian Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection (Ridgeway, Colo.). Woody will remain located at the award-winning Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection (Telluride, Colo.), where he has been general manager since 2021. Over the last several years, Woody stewarded an extensive renovation of the resort, including the launch of Timber Room, Telluride’s most loved après destination. Under his leadership, the resort earned the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award for the first time ever in 2022 and 2023. Woody joined Auberge Resorts Collection after many years in New York City, where his career spanned several senior leadership roles with luxury and lifestyle brands, including Spring Place, The Waldorf-Astoria, Morgans Hotel Group, The Ritz-Carlton and Chef Gordon Ramsay.
- Caitlin McConnell’s promotion to Vice President of Marketing, Openings & Transitions is a testament to her leadership in marketing, communications and brand development. Since joining the brand in 2020, McConnell has opened seven award-winning Auberge hotels, including Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection (Costa Rica), Etereo, Auberge Resorts Collection (Riviera Maya, Mexico), Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection (Napa, Calif.), Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection (Hudson Valley, N.Y.), Susurros del Corazon, Auberge Resorts Collection (Punta de Mita, Mexico), The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection (Los Olivos, Calif.) and Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Resorts Collection (Massignac, France). These properties have found their place on Condé Nast Traveler’s “Hot List” and Travel + Leisure’s “It List” in 2022 and 2023. Prior to joining Auberge, Caitlin was director of marketing at The Standard Hotels, overseeing the portfolio’s existing domestic hotels as well as its international expansion in London, The Maldives and Ibiza.

These promotions come at an exciting time for Auberge Resorts Collection as the brand continues its focused expansion in Europe, urban markets and beyond. Earlier this year, Auberge announced the addition of Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Resorts Collection, marking the second European property for the brand, which joined Grace Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection in Santorini, Greece. The addition of Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Resorts Collection began an era of thoughtful expansion in Europe with new, one-of-a-kind properties that are intimate, hyper-local, deeply personal and celebrate exquisite local design and experiences. In early 2024, Auberge will open Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection in Florence, Italy, an iconic, Renaissance-era destination that will be reborn as an 82-room hotel located just three miles from the Duomo di Firenze and at the gateway to the stunning countryside of Tuscany. The brand has also recently announced new properties in Dallas, San Francisco and Miami, and later this year, Auberge will open Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection in Fort Worth, Texas.
