Washington D.C.’s newest preeminent lifestyle destination, The Morrow Hotel, introduces Tauseen Malik, a business development strategist and hospitality management professional, to the position of general manager. In this role, Tauseen will continue to define the identity of The Morrow, a hotel located in the heart of Washington D.C.’s burgeoning NoMa’s neighborhood, an exciting hub of culture, culinary delights, and destination-driven experiences and offerings for locals and guests alike.
As an established leader in the hospitality space with 20+ years of experience, Malik joins The Morrow from neighboring Washington D.C. property, Yours Truly DC Hotel, where he held the position of General Manager from 2021 – 2023 and positioned the hotel for success, increasing Market share, brand awareness and Guest Scores.

Malik brings a wealth of expertise from his work with notable lifestyle hotel companies worldwide in countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Mumbai, and more. Before his time at Yours Truly Hotel, Malik acted as the general manager at Hilton Portland Downtown & The Duniway Hotel, leading the property to the #1 ranked hotel in Portland (Trip Advisor) during the pandemic. Malik also served as general manager at other properties including The Adolphus in Dallas, Texas, where he was brought on to redefine the market positioning of The Adolphus, while overseeing a multi-million dollar renovation and transitioning into a new start-up management company, the Lakeway Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, where he brought the hotel from the 92nd to 38th spot amongst all Remington Hotel properties, and The Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he successfully launched Drury’s first upscale 182-room, full-service hotel.
Malik attended The Swiss Hotel Management school in Montreux, Switzerland, where he studied Hospitality management and tourism. He then went to receive a Master of Business Administration in Global Business, Finance & Marketing from the EDHEC Business School in Nice, France, while also attending programs at Stellenbosch Business School of Cape Town as well as, St. Petersburg Graduate School of Management, in Petersburg, Russia. In addition to Malik’s love for travel, he is also involved in a variety of community activities. Malik is an ambassador for Pacers DC, a Washington D.C. running club and has been involved with Travel Portland, Hotel Association of North Texas, Santa Fe Lodgers Association, and Portland Lodging Association, to name a few.
