The joint announcement was made by KAYAK’s Greater China director Joseph Xiao and Trip.com Group Overseas Car Rental Business Head of Product Management Jommas Xu during a visit to Trip.com Group headquarters by a KAYAK delegation.

During the visit, the partners also initiated discussions for closer collaboration in the Asia Pacific region, and the launch of Trip.com Group car rental services in the US and Europe.

KAYAK is a leading travel search engine, simultaneously searching hundreds of travel sites and handling 520 million queries across its platforms each month, and serving millions of tourists globally. Bruce Wang, Head of Trip.com Group Car Rental Business, noted that the partnership would play an important role in extending the reach of the company’s extensive car rental services overseas.

In working with KAYAK, we hope to provide our quality car rental services to more travelers across the globe.”

Trip.com Group has launched car rental products on its Trip.com platform in English, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese, to date having reached 300,000 days of accumulative vehicle utilization. The overseas car rental business has maintained three-digit growth, and is among the most frequently utilized services on the platform for overseas users, alongside air ticketing, rail ticketing, and hotel reservations.

Car rentals are increasingly important to KAYAK’s users, and the partnership with Trip.com Group promises to enrich customer choices, said KAYAK’s Greater China director Joseph Xiao. “KAYAK is committed to providing extensive information to travelers,” said Xiao. “The demand for overseas car rentals is constantly increasing, and Trip.com Group provides high-quality services with wide coverage in this sector. We look forward to working more closely with Trip.com Group in car rentals, to provide more choice to our customers worldwide.”

Today’s announcement will make available for searching Trip.com car rental services in Greater China, Singapore, Korea and other destinations on KAYAK, among other search engines. The partnership promises to bring together Trip.com Group’s high-quality car rental products with KAYAK’s coverage to better serve more customers globally.
