Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur & Carpe Diem Santorini win Awards for Performance and Upselling

Oaky upselling awardsOaky, an award-winning hotel upselling software solution, announced today the winners of the Oaky Awards 2022. Carpe Diem Santorini was named the winner of Best Oaky Performer, while Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur was the winner of the Most Creative Upselling Award. 

These awards mark the ninth birthday of Oaky. As true joy is found in giving instead of receiving, Oaky decided to celebrate this occasion by handing out awards to recognise those hotels that have excelled by making the best use of Oaky’s upselling engine. 

Co-founder of Oaky, Erik Tengen, explains, “Performance and creativity should be celebrated and rewarded. The Oaky Awards serves as a source of inspiration for hoteliers to be more innovative, creative, and open to new strategies, like automated upselling, that can improve their revenue management and guest experience operations.”

The Best Oaky Performer Award rewards hotels that have excelled in terms of upsell revenue per room generated using Oaky. While revenue is a key metric, Oaky realises that it is not the only metric that should be measured. The Most Creative Upselling Award acknowledges hotels that go the extra mile to make their guests’ stays truly memorable by incorporating creative upselling. The winner in this category gets selected by a round of votes. The Oaky team voted anonymously and the hotel with the highest number of votes was declared the winner.

The winner of this year’s Performer Award is Carpe Diem Santorini. Based in Greece, it is a top-level, exclusive hotel that has been using Oaky since 2019. It is by far the most exclusive, luxury honeymoon retreat in Santorini and the island’s real crown jewel. It offers unprecedented serenity, privacy, and comfort, purpose-built for VIPs and honeymooners.

In the Most Creative Upselling category, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur walked away with the prize. The Oaky team voted their deal “Spacious Family Room with Kids Tent for the Ultimate Family Getaway” as the most creative upselling example. With this deal, guests can unwind in the sanctuary of a spacious, Family Executive Room. For the kids, there is a teepee tent and age-appropriate amenities, while parents can retreat to the separate living room or private workspace from where they can soak in the grand city views on offer.
