The Hotels Network (THN) announced the appointment of Mercedes Blanco to the global role of VP of Strategic Partnerships.
Effective immediately, she will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic alliances, forging strong relationships with key partners within the hospitality industry, and working together with them to develop creative solutions that deliver incremental value to everyone involved.
A leader in travel and hospitality with over 15 years of experience defining strategies and leading international sales and marketing teams, Mercedes is joining THN as a key member of the executive team. Building on her experience working for brands such as BCV a Rategain Company, Maritim Hotels, Value Retail, Microsoft and AC Hotels by Marriott, she will be a trusted advisor for both prospects and customers, transmitting her industry knowledge and product expertise.
Originally from Spain, Mercedes relocated to South Florida in 2014 to bring her international business acumen to the U.S. travel industry. With two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees, and professional education from IE Business School and Harvard University under her belt, Mercedes brings a high level of intellect and industry experience to her role at THN. Additionally, as one of the founding members of Women in Travel Thrive, Mercedes is actively shaping a brighter future for women in the travel industry.
Mercedes has been a dedicated member of the travel industry for many years. As a former member of the Board of Directors for the IE Tourism Club, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Mercedes truly understands the challenges facing hoteliers today, and how to help resolve them. Both in and outside of the travel industry, she is known for having a heart of gold, dedicating her time to others and volunteering for UNICEF, the Spanish Red Cross and Barretstown.
