LG Electronics has unveiled powerful, collaborative tools for hotel conference and meeting spaces, which are a critical business driver for the hospitality industry.
Featured at the 2018 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC), highlights include dramatic new digital signage displays for hotel lobbies and public spaces, new touch screens for wayfinding and interactive kiosks and next-generation video conferencing technologies for hotel meeting and conference centres.

Digital signage solutions for hotel lobbies and public spaces
Building on the success of LG’s highly-acclaimed guest room solutions, LG’s new digital signage products offer added convenience, connectivity and more options and services not only for guests but also for AV system managers.
New high-performance LG digital signage solutions are suitable for public spaces including conference rooms, lobbies, concourses and common areas. Unveiled to the hospitality industry for the first time at HITEC 2018 is the dramatic new LG Transparent Color LED film display.
Just 1.5 millimetres thin, it offers unparalleled installation capabilities thanks to its ability to turn any window or glass surface into a digital canvas, offering hoteliers a wide array of customisation options. The versatile Transparent Color LED film offers over 1,000 nits brightness, with each 668 x 480 mm panel containing 560 LED pixels that support a wide range of color while maintaining a high transparency ratio that delivers content and information in an entirely new way sure to capture guests’ attention, while still seeing what’s behind the glass.
LG’s 88-inch Ultra Stretch (model 88BH7D) display is another unique public space display. Measuring over seven feet long and nearly two feet wide, this 700 nit display features an incredible 32:9 aspect ratio for excellent image quality in a variety of commercial applications. The display supports a diverse range of content in Ultra HD (3,840 x 1,080) resolution and up to four picture-by-picture divisions for dynamic images and flexible display possibilities.
Also featured at HITEC 2018, the LG SM5KD digital signage display series – available in five screen sizes from 32- to 65-inch class – combines the webOS smart signage platform and a built-in speaker. The high-performance Quad-Core System-on-Chip can execute multiple tasks at the same time and provides smooth content playback without an external media player. The SM5KD with SoftAP software can also operate as a wireless access point for mobile devices.
LG touch displays and interactive kiosks
LG’s expanded 2018 portfolio of touch technologies for hotel meeting spaces delivers vivid images, text and video to provide an enhanced user experience with easy and reliable touch performance. With LG’s proprietary IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, the displays deliver unparalleled picture quality from virtually any viewing angle, which is critically important in large meeting spaces.
New to LG’s touch solutions portfolio in 2018 are advanced IPS Interactive Digital Boards (IDBs) – the 86-inch 86TR3D and 75-inch 75TC3D 4K UHD models – ideal for meeting rooms and other collaborative hotel spaces. For seamless collaboration, the new IDB solutions are all compatible with the LG IDB app for Android and iOS devices. It helps facilitate successful meetings by encouraging participants to freely submit their ideas on the screen using the intuitive touch and writing tools thanks to easy connectivity and crisp graphics for high readability.
Advanced video conferencing solutions for hotels and resorts
Helping hotels and resorts meet today’s interactive meeting and conference needs, next-generation Web RTC (real-time conferencing) solutions on Pro: Centric-enabled LG hotel TVs offer a flexible new video conference platform. LG Web RTC solutions feature seamless integration, synchronized support, an interactive camera (with pan, tilt and zoom), and superior image quality.
Other LG video conferencing solutions for the hospitality industry leverage compatibility between LG digital signage displays and the Cisco Room Kit series.
