Virgin Hotels Collection, the parent company encompassing luxury hospitality brands Virgin Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition, today announces Naomi Moreno-Melgar in the new role of Global Director of Communications, responsible for overseeing the communications teams across all markets globally for both iconic brands.
Moreno-Melgar joined Virgin Limited Edition in 2019, as Group Head of PR, and has since been the driving force behind the public relations and communications strategy for Sir Richard Branson’s unique collection of luxury hotels and resorts. She brings to this combined new role over 25 years’ experience in PR and Communications at esteemed global brands including IHG, Travelopia, Asahi and Peroni, along with a genuine passion for luxury hospitality and a long-serving veteran of the Virgin brand, having spent 10 years in the PR team at Virgin Holidays. Moreno-Melgar will leverage her wealth of knowledge to develop compelling communications strategies and spearhead efforts across both internal and external teams to elevate global awareness for the collection.
The appointment comes on the heels of the formation of an integrated Virgin Hotels Collection global sales team last year, which brought together executives from Virgin Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition with the goal of combining expertise to drive strategic growth. These developments, in turn, follow the establishment of Virgin Hotels Collection in January 2023, which saw the expertise of the two global teams combined to elevate the consumer experience and accelerate the expansion of both brands.
In her new role, Naomi is supported by a strong communications team in the UK and US and has recently appointed J Public Relations to oversee brand PR efforts for Virgin Hotels – who already act as the sole North American PR agency for Virgin Limited Edition
