Acurio International, leading global Peruvian restaurant group by culinary luminary Chef Gastón Acurio, is proud to announce the appointment of Rick Tomich as its new Chief Marketing Officer. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Tomich is committed to leading the brand’s strategic expansion worldwide while supporting Acurio’s broader mission to cement Peruvian cuisine as an approachable mainstream dining staple.
A premier leader in Peruvian gastronomy for over 30 years, Gastón Acurio has played a pivotal role in paving the way for his culture’s cuisine to enter the global stage. Today, Peruvian food is recognized worldwide as some of the best – winning accolades such as #1 Restaurant in the World 2023 by World’s 50 Best – Central restaurant in Lima, and, Acurio’s very own La Mar Miami awarded the “The Best Peruvian Restaurant in the US” by Peru’s renowned newspaper El Comercio and Somos magazine. As the newly appointed Chief Marketing Officer, Tomich will bolster the impressive acknowledgements as Acurio International expands its portfolio throughout the U.S. and internationally with expansion brands such as their flagship, La Mar, and new concepts like Jarana, an approachable Peruvian cuisine restaurant concept aimed to bring Peruvian cuisine to the heart of America.

Additionally in his role, Tomich leads marketing efforts for the company’s dozen brands inclusive of over 60 restaurants in over 10 countries throughout South and North America, Europe, and the Middle East. His responsibilities include providing marketing and communications direction within the areas of public relations and internal communications, brand development and management, the in-venue brand experience, social and digital marketing, creative and graphic design, photo and video direction, and more.
Prior to joining Acurio International, Tomich served as the Vice President of International Marketing for Tao Group Hospitality, formerly Hakkasan Group, overseeing the on-going marketing strategies, planning, and budgeting for multiple restaurant brands across its portfolio in over 15 global markets from Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Marrakesh, Oslo, Shanghai, Mumbai, Bali, Jakarta, and Mexico City, along with several domestic markets including Las Vegas to Miami, and San Diego to Honolulu. Throughout his nine-year tenure, Tomich is credited with opening well over a dozen new restaurant and nightlife venues all over the world including OMNIA Nightclub & Dayclub, and Hakkasan, Ling Ling, and Yauatcha restaurants amongst many others.
