Sandpiper Lodging Trust (“SLT”) is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Michael T. Helgeson as Vice President of Capital
Markets. Mr. Helgeson is responsible for the education, promotion, marketing, and sales of Sandpiper Lodging Trust to Registered Investment Advisor firms across the country.
Prior to his arrival at Sandpiper, Mr. Helgeson held the Regional Vice President of Capital Markets role for the AOG Institutional Diversified Fund (AOGFX). This closed-end fund focused on private real estate, private equity, and private credit/debt. Helgeson was responsible for the education and sales of this fund solely to Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms, and their employed Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs). Prior to AOGFX, Michael served as Regional Director for Duncan Advisor Resources, responsible for the sale and promotion of long-term care, disability, and life insurance to independent insurance agents, and registered representatives of Cambridge Investment Research. From 2010 through mid-2019, Helgeson held both advisor and client-facing wholesaling positions with Jackson National (Banks & Regional Broker-Dealers), Transamerica (Regional Broker-Dealers), Capitas Financial (Banks and Independent Broker-Dealers), Black Creek Capital Markets (RIAs & All Broker-Dealers), and Globe Life (Direct to Consumer), in Denver, CO. His financial services sales experience includes variable annuities, mutual funds, REITs, 1031-exchanges, and life insurance.
Mr. Helgeson holds a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mr. Helgeson holds active Series 7, 6, 65, 63 licenses, in addition to his Virginia resident life, health, long-term care, and variable contracts license.
