Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta announces the promotion of Ika Pranoto to Director of Food and Beverage and Catering Sales.
With more than 18 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Ika brings to his new role a powerful combination of expertise and a passion for going the extra mile.
Those who work with Ika are often heard to say that hospitality runs in his blood — as, in fact, it does. His father spent his career with Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, giving Ika an early insight into the world of travel and hospitality. After graduating from the Swiss Hotel Management School in Les Roches, Switzerland, he began his career with a renowned five-star property in Bangkok. In 2005 and 2007, he was part of the preopening teams for two Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta, a brand where he climbed the ladder to assistant director of catering sales.
In 2012, he joined the former Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, where he worked until the property closed, then went on to gain valuable experience with Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, followed by a top-tier property in Bahrain. In 2016, Ika returned to Indonesia — and to Four Seasons. Joining the preopening team for the new Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta as Director of Catering and Conference Services, he played a crucial role in establishing the Hotel as the premier urban retreat in Indonesia.
Now, in a dual role that encompasses two different divisions, Ika is living his dream.
Ika and his team are also in the process of creating new food and beverage programming that marries world-class cuisine with exceptional service. Guests can experience these updated offerings at the Hotel’s dining and drinking venues, as well as at social and corporate events.
Ika’s strong background in sales and marketing enables him to see the bigger picture, with a keen understanding of multiple key dimensions such as strategy, revenue and operations. This is an approach that drives his leadership as well. He works closely with team members to expand their knowledge base and involve them in decisions beyond their immediate job purview.
In his free time, Ika loves to listen to a wide variety of music, dance and sing — whether at a karaoke bar or in the shower. As a sports enthusiast, he is always up for a run or a game of tennis.
