1 Hotel Mayfair, London’s very first mission-driven sustainable luxury hotel, today announced the appointment of Francois-Xavier Schoeffer as General Manager of the much-anticipated 1 Hotel Mayfair. Set to open in summer 2023, Francois-Xavier will work alongside Robert Koren, who was appointed last month as Senior Vice President & Area Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East & Asia to launch SH Hotels & Resorts’ European Corporate office as the company looks to accelerate growth across the region.
Francois-Xavier has over 25 years experience in the luxury travel industry and boasts unrivalled passion for luxury standards and effortless service. Over the years Francois-Xavier has gained valuable European exposure having worked in Paris (Lutetia, Intercontinental, Westin), London (Hotel Café Royal, The Kensington) and Amsterdam (Conservatorium Hotel). Starting his career at Hotel Martinez in Cannes in 1997, Francois-Xavier has since honed his skills; particularly excelling in his management of Michelin starred chefs and world leading spas.

The UK flagship property, set to open in summer 2023, will be located on Berkeley Street overlooking Green Park and will be London’s very first mission-driven sustainable luxury hotel, setting the standard for a new kind of luxury experience that positively impacts the planet.
