Parkroyal on Beach Road, Singapore acquires a new chief

parkroyalKung Teong Wah brings over 30 years of experience in Asia and Singapore’s hospitality scene as he oversees Parkroyal, the newly revitalised upscale hotel in vibrant Kampong Glam.

In managing the overall business operations at Parkroyal, Kung will also be responsible for leading the team in achieving optimal commercial performance and maximising operational efficiencies through his vast experience in digital transformation.

Prior to his new role, Kung was a cluster general manager with Millennium Hotels and Resorts. His extensive experience in the hospitality industry also encompassed several roles within IHG in multiple geographies – China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia – across 23 years, until he became general manager at Holiday Inn Resort Batam.

Having nurtured a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences from an early age, Kung began his hospitality career in culinary; one of his first jobs was as a junior sous chef at Raffles Hotel Singapore. He then moved on to other aspects of hotel operations, as well as sales and marketing.

Kung currently serves as a Board Member of the e2i Employment & Employability Institute and Chairman of the Institute for Technical Education (ITE) Hospitality Advisory Board Committee.
