Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, a luxury property located within Malaysia’s trendiest destination resort, appointed an experienced hospitality professional Peter Wagner to the position of Resort Manager. He will be reporting directly to the General Manager and will focus on running the day-to-day operations, upholding service quality and increasing guest satisfaction.
In a career that started nearly two decades ago, Peter has lived and worked in some of the world’s most exciting destinations, from his native Germany to Austria, the Caribbean, the Maldives, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He joins Anantara Desaru Coast from Six Senses Samui, a luxury resort with a strong villa product, where he worked as Director of Rooms. Before that, Peter was based in Vietnam as Rooms Division Manager at Anantara Mui Ne, a luxury resort.
Prior to embarking on the Southeast Asian leg of his career in 2017, Peter spent a number of years in the Middle East, helping to open Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli in Qatar; working as Front Office Manager at the award-winning Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara; and as Front Office Manager at InterContinental Muscat in Oman before that.
His globe-spanning career has also included stints at two upscale Indian Ocean properties, Constance Moofushi Resort and Kanuhura Maldives, a Member of The Leading Hotels of the World, as well as earlier experiences working at The Regent Palms in Turks and Caicos, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and a number of hotels in Germany and Austria.
