Habitas, the sustainable, experience-led hospitality brand with properties in three continents, has appointed Guy Heywood as Chief Executive Officer of Hotels, overseeing the management division, to support its rapid global growth.
A seasoned industry expert and experienced operator, possessing a wealth of knowledge in the international hospitality industry, Heywood will oversee all operations across all Habitas current and future properties.
Heywood joins Habitas from his previous role as the Chief Operating Officer at Six Senses Hotel Resorts Spas. Prior to joining Six Senses Hotel Resorts Spas, Heywood had held the position of COO for Alila Hotels and Resorts for the last eight years. Prior to Alila, Guy oversaw the US & Americas portfolio for Aman.
With a hospitality career spanning over 30 years, Heywood has played an informative role in driving growth and success in the leadership positions he has held at various, notable global hotel groups including InterContinental, The Regent, Four Seasons.

Habitas’ impressive growth includes six additional properties due to open in 2022 and an additional 20 projects in the pipeline. Habitas launched its flagship home in Tulum in 2017 and continues to expand globally. This includes the recent launches of Habitas Bacalar and Habitas AlUla, with plans also underway for new locations in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Bhutan.
