Zayne Boon appointed new General Manager of Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre is pleased to welcome Zayne Boon as its new General Manager – effective 9 September 2016. 

Bringing with him a sterling career spanning over 20 years, Boon is no stranger to the hospitality industry. He received his education in Tasmania, Australia, and graduated from the University of Tasmania, with a degree in Computer Science. Having dabbled in the hotel industry at a young age, Boon was noted for his results-driven approach and was appointed as a General Manager by the age of 25. He then spent some 20 years accumulating experience in hotels around Australia before beginning his adventure with the AccorHotels group.

A seasoned hotelier, Boon has held several General Manager positions in  NSW, South Australia, Thailand and Regional Manager positions in New Zealand. Part of his extensive experience includes overseeing and leading six hotel openings and several rebrandings, working across multiple AccorHotels brands such as Novotel, Mercure Grand, Mercure Hotel and Ibis. Part of his resume also includes being a qualified ISO 14001 Internal Audit in which he was responsible for the rollout of the sustainability programs in New Zealand and being presented with the prestigious AHA for Outstanding Contribution to Tourism and Senior Hotel Executive of the Year Award for New Zealand.

With his broad spectrum of management and operations leadership positions as well as strengths in pre-opening and renovation projects, Boon is set to take on the rein in leading the hotel by driving strategic formulation and implementing focal initiatives especially in the onset of the Information Age and elevating the hotel’s standing within the city’s competitive hotel landscape thus profiling it as an upscale and cosmopolitan destination of Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
