After three months of lockdown, and a 155th birthday, the iconic, five star London luxury hotel, The Langham, London reopens in the first of many stages that will see the hotel consciously evolve back into a fully operating ‘Resort in the City’ for its guests.
Behind the scenes, the team at The Langham, London have been working tirelessly to guarantee that once reopened, all of their guests will be able to experience the effortless elegance of the hotel alongside a range of complimentary activities including, English sparkling wine tasting and biscuit decorating for kids, while incorporating new measures to safeguard the wellbeing of all of those choosing to visit and stay.
Speaking on the reopening of the hotel, Bob van den Oord, Managing Director said: “The Langham, London has been welcoming guests for over 155 years and during our long history we have overcome two World Wars, The Great Depression and we are now embarking on this exciting journey towards a ‘new normal’. The safety of our guests and colleagues is what is most important to us and whilst you will notice some subtle differences to ensure your safety during your stay, one thing that hasn’t changed is our iconic Langham service. The team have been working hard to prepare everything for our reopening and we really can’t wait to start welcoming guests back!”
For those who have missed a night of modern luxury, guests are invited to stay in one of the elegant guest rooms or indulge in a real treat and stay within one of the spectacular suites. Whilst many of the amenities at the hotel will remain closed until future phases of the reopening allow, guests will be able to enjoy a menu carefully created by Executive Chef, Chris King and overseen by Michel Roux Jr. from the comfort of their room or drink and dine at The Wigmore, the renowned British tavern.
There has been no mistake that the British public have been most passionate about the reopening of their beloved pubs and The Wigmore’s touch of London polish and convivial atmosphere seemed the natural place for a reopening drink.
The Wigmore will operate a reservations policy for tables of six people maximum while the team will be on hand to monitor the flow of people coming in to celebrate and socialise responsibly. Doors will open at 12pm with a selection of great wines, cask ales and craft beers including The Wigmore’s very own house “Saison”, brewed in partnership with Yonder Brewing. Plus that legendary ‘XXL stovetop 3 cheese & mustard toastie’.
Historically hotels never close, the Doormen are always there and the welcome is always warm, so for the first time in its history, The Langham, London reopens. Safely, the hotel will return to being that intrinsic part of the local community; steady, reliable and a comforting haven in the ever transient world that we live in, where generations of families are able to continue the tradition of bringing their loved ones to hotels each year to celebrate special occasions and know that the doors will always be open.
