Waramaug Hospitality, a privately held investment firm focused on premium-branded select-service and full-service hotels, announced today the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing, located in Lansing, Michigan.
The 256-room property, acquired by Waramaug in 2021, underwent a complete renovation, including all guestrooms and guest corridors, the lobby, Made Market, restaurants and bar, meeting rooms, and pre-function spaces. The property features an oversized lobby, onsite restaurant and bar, fitness center, two-story indoor pool, and over 10,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The second floor of the property connects to the Lansing Center, the city-owned 125,000-square-foot convention center.
“Positioned in the heart of Lansing, adjacent to the Lansing Convention Center, this property has remarkable growth potential with its diversified economy and the surge in insurance, insuretech, medtech and IT businesses,” said Ferit Ferhangil, Principal of Waramaug Hospitality. “Our strategic decision to rebrand the property to a DoubleTree will increase the intrinsic value and unlock the untapped potential of the asset through Hilton’s unparalleled distribution capability, systems, and strong loyalty program. We are also pleased that this will be the eighth property in our portfolio to operate under the Hilton family of brands.”
The DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing is one block from the Michigan State Capitol building and in close proximity to Impression 5 Science Center, R.E. Olds Transportation Museum, Michigan History Center, Accident Fund Insurance, Sparrow Hospital, General Motors, Peckham Inc., and Auto Owners Insurance. Michigan State University is four miles away. Lansing ranks No. 15 in BestCities.org’s 2020 rankings of America’s best small cities.
