PrivateDeal closes financing round and establishes Advisory Board

PrivateDeal, the first Smart Negotiation Solution for hotels, just closed its second seed financing round.

By allowing guests to negotiate their price for a stay directly on the hotel website, PrivateDeal provides an innovative customer-centric approach as well as a new booking experience.

Earlier in November, the Swiss company based at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne was awarded the renowned Milestone prize “Premiere” granted by HTR- Hotelleriesuisse. This prize rewards the innovation, disruption, and potential of the business model of PrivateDeal in Switzerland and abroad.

Among the investors are hospitality business angels and successful managers. “We are very proud of the support shown by our investors. Their trust as experts of the travel industry is invaluable and will be a great asset moving forward” explained Isabelle Jan, co-founder of PrivateDeal.

PrivateDeal also decided to establish an Advisory Board composed of seasoned entrepreneurs and Hospitality professionals.

The five members are Ulrich Pillau (Apaleo founder & CEO), Jakob Riegger (TrustYou founder), Sauro Nicli (former Head of IT and innovation at SICPA & AXA), Dr. Achim Schmitt (Full Professor at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne & Associate Dean of Graduate Programs) and Alain Kropf (Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne General Manager). “The Advisory Board is a way for us to stay as close to our core market as possible. Each member has a key role to play in the success of the company.” stated Lucien Mauguin, co- founder of PrivateDeal.

The funds raised will be used to expand the Company’s commercial presence worldwide and consolidate the team.

While the solution is already implemented by many hotels throughout the world, the team is ready to propel PrivateDeal to greater heights. According to Isabelle Jan: “We know the traction of our product on the market and are now at a turning point. This investment was the needed trigger for us to fully deploy our solution internationally.”
