Portier Technologies expands to Dewa Phuket

Portier Technologies, a US-based travel technology startup, expanded its hotel guest-facing platform to Dewa Phuket, its first partner on the island of Phuket, taking its presence in Thailand to the third location, following earlier launches in Bangkok and Koh Samui.

At Dewa Phuket, the platform aims to enhance guests’ digital experience, as well as making it easier for guests to communicate with their “Experience Manager” in booking the wealth of services that Dewa has to offer.

“By partnering with Portier Technologies, we are enabling our guests to simplify their stay at our resort by putting everything the resort has to offer in a single place. Furthermore, our need for excessive printing is reduced significantly and operational issues between guests and staff are addressed in style,” said Olga Gergenkop, head of operations at Dewa Phuket.

Gergenkop also remarked that she expects the Portier platform to significantly increase ancillary bookings at the resort, commenting: “Portier has already validated its revenue positive impact at other hotel properties in Thailand. With the benefit of their platform, we believe that we are well-equipped to face any potential downturns and counteract them by increasing our on-site bookings”

Portier phones include hotspot connectivity, allowing guests to bypass data roaming fees or the expense and inconvenience of installing a local SIM card. Portier devices directly communicate with hotel systems — allowing guests to communicate directly with hotel staff, and to discover and book services on the property or while exploring the island of Phuket.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Dewa Phuket becoming our launch partner in Phuket,” remarked Olivier Dombey, Portier Technologies’ COO, who was on-site for the launch. “As we have proved with our recently released impact study, our offering for resorts such as this one is not a nice-to-have by any means, it is an absolute must for hoteliers who want to push for on-site growth.”

In a recent study Portier Technologies’ positive effect on on-site spending at hotels is highlighted by the impact the solution has had at Banyan Tree Samui, where the platform has been able to generate an ROI of 8 times, something Dewa Phuket and further hotels in the pipeline will be looking to do also.
