Leading global travel and lifestyle communications agency Mason Rose has been appointed to handle the launch of The Revery in Crete, representing the pioneering hospitality concept in the UK and US markets.
Launching on June 1 2026, The Revery, a member of Leading Hotels of The World, will be a soulful retreat occupying a secluded location near the pink-sand shores of Elafonisi Beach, in the wild surrounds of southwestern Chania in Crete. Rooted in nature and local culture, the property will redefine barefoot luxury through a collection of 24 safari-inspired tented pavilions and clifftop suites, each designed to immerse guests in the island’s untamed beauty, generous spirit, and ancient rhythms.
A New Chapter for Crete’s Southwest
Located between the island’s rolling olive groves and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, The Revery will embody a slower, more soulful escape, shaped by nature, local craftsmanship and a profound respect for the landscape. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a space of warmth and serenity, offering the perfect base for a blissful romantic retreat or an adventurous escape through Crete’s most iconic landscapes.
Design Details – Introducing Raw Luxury
Introducing a new hospitality concept for the region, The Revery will offer two distinct accommodation styles. The Revery Wild, eco‑luxury tented pavilions, starting from 40 sqm of interior space, positioned close to the shore and fully embrace the surrounding nature with spacious decks and hydrotherapy pools. The Revery Suites, carved into the cliffs, will offer quiet architectural elegance from 53 sqm and large outdoor patios, each featuring a private heated pool. Both options provide exceptional privacy along with uninterrupted sea and sunset views.
The Revery Villa will be the property’s most elevated accommodation option, offering 285 sqm of tranquil indoor-outdoor living space across two floors. Ideal for stays with family or friends, the villa accommodates up to six guests and features two spacious bedrooms with en‑suite bathrooms, a light‑filled living area with two sofa beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and a generous 137 sqm terrace with a barbecue, outdoor dining area, and panoramic heated infinity pool.
Designed by local architect Eirini Apostolaki (Archtify) and with interiors by Athens-based Sophia Vantaraki (ThingK), The Revery reflects a modern elevated interpretation of Cretan minimalism, blending canvas, timber and stone with an elemental palette inspired by the region’s wild flora. The spaces will embody a sense of raw luxury and calm, with a pared back aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Textures reflecting local heritage, including woven reed, natural linens, and clay ceramics, will add depth and authenticity throughout.
In Harmony with The Environment
Created with sustainability at its core, The Revery follows a low‑impact design philosophy, incorporating natural ventilation, solar energy, and eco‑conscious materials, including stonework shaped from rocks sourced directly from the site. Before construction began, native flora was carefully replanted across the property, and all pathways were designed to follow the land’s natural contours, ensuring no disruption to the coastline. Additional ecological measures include water saving systems, biological wastewater treatment and a low pollution lighting scheme.
The property is also home to the scenic St Anthony’s Chapel, a historic 80-year-old chapel which has been carefully preserved and will be licensed for intimate wedding ceremonies.
Community is equally central to The Revery’s ethos, with the team collaborating closely with local artisans and suppliers to support the island’s cultural and culinary traditions. The property has also established partnerships with regional conservation groups to help protect native flora and advance ongoing preservation initiatives.
A Celebration of Cretan Living
The cliffside Fílema restaurant, which directly translates as taste, tradition, and sharing, will be the beating heart of The Revery, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With dramatic views of the Libyan sea and a spacious terrace made for sundowners, the restaurant will pay tribute to the island’s storied epicurean traditions, drawing on recipes passed down through generations. Working closely with carefully selected local farmers and culinary partners, each dish will spotlight exceptional Cretan produce, from olive oil pressed in nearby groves to seafood sourced from local waters and herbs gathered in the surrounding hills.
Healing Through Nature
The ROÉE Spa will offer a curated menu of restorative wellness rituals inspired by Crete’s ancient traditions of healing through nature. Treatments will draw on locally sourced natural ingredients, including wild botanicals, oils, sea salt. The spa will comprise four treatment rooms; a thermal area with a sauna, steam room, hot and cold baths and a sea‑facing 24hr fitness space. With holistic wellbeing at the heart of The Revery, guests will also find a spacious open‑air yoga deck and dedicated meditation paths, ideal for a post‑treatment stroll through the fragrant gardens.
Embracing Island Life
An inspiring programme of immersive cultural experiences and outdoor pursuits will invite guests to discover this lesser‑explored side of the island. Highlights will include visits to some of Crete’s most beautiful beaches, such as Elafonisi, Kedrodasos, Falasarna and Balos, as well as guided hikes through local canyons, 4×4 discovery safaris, windsurfing and kitesurfing, private boat trips and fishing expeditions. Guests will also have the opportunity to join craft workshops with local artisans and enjoy stargazing experiences under the island’s famously clear skies.
The closest airport to The Revery is Chania International Airport (CHQ) which is a scenic two hour drive away. Heraklion International Airport (HER) is a three-and-a-half-hour drive. Private transfers and helicopter access will be available upon request.
The Revery will open its doors on June 1st, 2026 with rates starting from €600/approx. £520.
