Hilton proudly announces the opening of The Green Leaf Niseko Village, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking the debut of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand in Japan. Located at the foot of Mount Niseko Annupuri within Niseko Village Ski Resort in Hokkaido, the 200-bedroom property is a winter-only destination, welcoming guests exclusively during Niseko’s celebrated White Season for unparalleled access to world-class powder snow and alpine atmosphere.
This opening comes amid strong momentum for Japan’s ski tourism. From November 2024 to February 2025, the number of visitors to Japan’s ski destinations increased by about 40 per cent year-on-year, with international travellers accounting for approximately 80 per cent of all ski travel. Niseko remains one of the most popular destinations, drawing nearly half of overseas visits and more than half of ski travel spending during the peak season.
Joining more than 180 Tapestry Collection by Hilton properties globally, The Green Leaf Niseko Village brings the brand’s signature focus on individuality, design-forward stays, and locally inspired storytelling to one of Japan’s most sought-after winter destinations. Drawing inspiration from Niseko’s mountain landscape, the property blends lodge-style comfort with contemporary artistry, offering a warm and restorative retreat after a day in the snow.
Guests can also look forward to a display of 200 works by prominent painter Soichiro Tomioka, alongside playful and modern touchpoints by Sapporo-based artist and graphic designer Emi Shiratori through murals, hand-drawn guestroom details, and illustrated motifs. The renewed interiors were designed by renowned Champalimaud Design, balancing nature, craftsmanship and comfort.
Key highlights of the property include:
- The Ultimate Winter Retreat: Guests enjoy direct ski-in/ski-out access to Niseko Village Ski Resort and a tranquil indoor-outdoor onsen fed by a mineral-rich natural hot spring, offering a restorative post-ski ritual surrounded by snow-covered landscapes.
-
Artfully Curated Stays: Design-forward rooms and public spaces that showcase local artistry, refined textures, and warm materials, creating an immersive sense of place rooted in Niseko’s winter identity.
-
Culinary and Social Experiences: Goshiki, the hotel’s signature restaurant, highlights the diversity of Japanese and Western flavours, while Tomioka White serves as a welcoming lobby lounge for coffee, apres-ski gatherings, and cocktails by the fireplace.
As the first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in Japan, The Green Leaf Niseko Village strengthens Hilton’s growing lifestyle portfolio in the region, joining upcoming Japan openings: Kyoto Brighton Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort, and Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka.
