Batemans Bay has welcomed a new chic addition to its growing accommodation offering, with the opening of Casita, the sister property and neighbour of reimagined motel, The Isla, which opened in 2022.
Like The Isla, Casita, which translates to “little house” in Spanish, pays homage to the owners’ European roots and is thoughtfully designed to present a modern and stylish motel whilst giving a sentimental nod to the quintessential Australian beach holiday that was.
With families and larger groups in mind, this newly renovated retreat features seven two-bedroom suites. Designed for longer stays, each suite features a fully equipped kitchen and modern amenities to ensure a relaxing and easy stay with all the convenience of a motel but the luxuries of a hotel.
Guests can select from five suite types:
- Standard Suite: Small on price, big on features. This is not your standard standard. This 45sqm suite features a private courtyard and two bedrooms, including one queen bed and one king bed, and can accommodate up to four guests. Rates start from $250 per night.
- Deluxe Suite: Like the Standard Suite, this suite features a private courtyard and is 45sqm in total. Guests will also enjoy a communal outdoor area, laundry, outdoor shower, BBQ facilities and easy access to the beach and epic fenced playground, which is a short two-minute walk away.
The interior design of Casita is the vision of local studio, Clay Interiors, blending the natural and raw beauty of the South Coast landscape with moodier, nostalgic tones inspired by European aesthetics The colour palette includes rich maroons, blush pinks and warm neutrals, creating a retro and playful yet soothing environment. Special attention has also been given to artistic touches, with bold artworks by Melbourne artist Dan Rushford.
“We’re extremely excited to be opening Casita as The Isla’s little cousin,” says Yanna Dascarolis, who alongside a group of friends and family, brought the vision for Casita to life following their foray into accommodation with the opening of The Isla in 2022.
“We’ve designed Casita to be a home-away-from-home. A place for small gatherings and laid-back family adventures,” she shares. “Our aim is to provide a much-needed accommodation option in Batemans Bay, catering to the many larger groups and families visiting the area. With the opening of Casita, visitors have an alternative to the traditional holiday cabins in the area, combining the luxury of hotel amenities with the comfort and space of a private apartment-sized suite.”
