Marriott International and PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk. sign agreement to open five more properties in Indonesia

Marriott International, Inc. and PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk. announced a signed agreement to develop five additional properties, comprising more than 1,300 rooms across Indonesia. This announcement further elevates the two companies’ joint efforts to expand their footprint in the country.

The multi-deal agreement was signed by Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International and Eiffel Tedja, Director of PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk., Chairman of the Board of Marriott International, David Marriott and Chairman of Pakuwon Group, Alexander Tedja, were also present to witness the signing ceremony for this exciting collaboration that will further expand the footprint of Marriott’s presence in Indonesia. Stretching from Jakarta to Surabaya and Batam, the properties in the signed pipeline include:

  • Jakarta Marriott Hotel Kota Kasablanka (slated to open in December 2029)
  • Aloft Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah (slated to open in December 2029)
  • Courtyard by Marriott Batam (slated to open in December 2029)
  • The Jakarta EDITION (slated to open in December 2030)
  • The Westin Batam (slated to open in December 2030)

Marriott International currently manages 1,925 rooms across seven hotels and one golf club for PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk., with three more properties set to open in 2025. With the five additional management agreements awarded, Marriott International is on track to oversee a total of 18 properties and 4,500 rooms by 2030.

Jakarta Marriott Hotel Kota Kasablanka
Slated to open in December 2029, Jakarta Marriott Hotel Kota Kasablanka is anticipated to feature 320 spacious and sophisticated guestrooms and suites. The inspiring mix of dining options is expected to include an all-day dining restaurant, a Pool Bar, a patisserie, and the Greatroom lobby – a space to connect, work, or unwind, and is the core of Marriott Hotels globally. The hotel also plans to feature a well-equipped fitness center, the signature Quan spa, an outdoor swimming pool, and multi-purpose event and meeting spaces tailored to foster collaborations.

Aloft Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah
Expected to open in December 2029, the property is anticipated to feature 243 rooms and 23 suites, including four Family Suites. Plans also include for the hotel’s dining and social spaces to feature an all-day dining outlet serving local and international cuisine. The brand’s signature W XYZ® bar is the social hub of the hotel and serves invigorating cocktails and light bites. For those on the go, Re:fuel by Aloft, provides guests the option to grab-and-go 24/7 from a selection of flavorful light meals and drinks. Additional facilities expects to include a 600 sqm ballroom with 240 sqm pre-function space and multi-functional meeting rooms, 24/7 Re:charge gym, Splash Pool, and a Kids’ Club.

Courtyard by Marriott Batam
Passionate trailblazers can expect new signature polished rooms of Courtyard by Marriott brand to recharge in the heart of Batam. Expected to open its doors in December 2029, the hotel plan includes 306 rooms and suites, a signature all-day dining restaurant with live stations, a Café & Bar, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, and spacious meeting capacities, including 10 meeting rooms.

The Jakarta EDITION
The Jakarta EDITION – the first in Indonesia – is expected to feature 240 luxurious, serene guestrooms and suites. With an anticipated opening in December 2030, the hotel is also slated to showcase a restaurant with a semi-open kitchen and live stations with breakfast as its specialty, a signature restaurant located on a high floor with an outdoor terrace, and a rooftop cocktail bar featuring panoramic city views. These planned culinary venues will stage a selection of exquisite food and beverage options that celebrate culinary innovation and reflect the best of the destinations’ culture. Other planned facilities include a swimming pool, a Fitness Center, The Spa, as well as 2,500 sqm of multi-function spaces, comprising an event space, a Junior Ballroom, and seven meeting rooms.

The Westin Batam
Projected to open in December 2030, the hotel expects to feature 230 premium rooms and suites. Plans include for The Westin Batam to feature five F&B options including a Sky Bar, a WestinWORKOUT® Fitness studio, swimming pool, two ballrooms and six event and meeting space, as well as an exclusive Executive Club Lounge. The hotel is poised to exemplify the brand’s position as hospitality’s global leader in well-being, allowing travellers to transcend the rigors of travel through its signature programs and six pillars of well-being.
