Set on the site of America’s oldest inn, Canoe Place Inn & Cottages has hosted grand events and memorable gatherings for hundreds of years. Opening Summer 2022 and developed by Rechler Equity Partners with the support of Main Street Hospitality and Silver Street Hospitality Group, Canoe Place is poised to be the premier East End venue once again.
Re-imagined by Brooklyn-based design firm Workstead, the lovingly and meticulously restored inn, cottages, pool and gardens are rich with history yet designed with modern events and weddings in mind.

The stunning property features a 5,087 square foot Grand Ballroom with soaring ceilings that seats up to 330 guests for dinner. Adjacent to the ballroom is a separate 2,454 square foot, window-wrapped Pavilion and two dramatic spaces for outdoor events. The venues are equipped for sophisticated event production featuring state-of-the-art technology, carefully planned load-in logistics, a central kitchen and a veteran hospitality management team.
Expertly restored and beautifully appointed by award-winning design firm Workstead, Canoe Place interiors feature a mix of bespoke and antique finishes and furnishings – balancing history and luxury in its rooms, common areas and event spaces. Intimate but engaging, guests have access to twenty suites, four of which adjoin for groups and families, and five multi- bedroom cottages with private outdoor dining and entertainment areas. The property is also home to the restaurant Good Ground Tavern, bars, a full-service Onda spa and an outdoor pool.
Canoe Place will feature a range of transportive food and beverage experiences from Chef Ülfet Ralph that share a common language of seasonal ingredients and local flavors showcasing the region’s bounty. Working in partnership with the East End community of farmers, artisanal makers and fishermen, the team at Canoe Place will source only the highest quality and freshest ingredients. Menus will change and flow with the seasons and be an inspired tribute to field and sea.
