Fairfield by Marriott continues expansion in Japan with seven openings in 2022

Fairfield by Marriott JapanFairfield by Marriott has announced the planned openings of seven new Fairfield properties across four prefectures of Nara, Hokkaido, Hyogo, and Okayama in Japan throughout 2022. Together with the seven planned openings, Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Hotels will be expected to expand its portfolio to a total of 21 hotels across 9 prefectures in the country by 2022.

The opening continues the momentum of the Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki project in Japan, which was a partnership with Sekisui House back in 2018. The new hotels are slated to be built in key locations near roadside rest stations called “Michi-no-Eki” in Japan, situated close to national parks and UNESCO World Heritage sites that unlock access to many undiscovered destinations.

“We are very excited to continue to expand the Fairfield portfolio across Japan in collaboration with our esteemed partner Sekisui House,” said Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific (excluding China), Marriott International. “We have been achieving great success on the Fairfield’s Michi-no-Eki project with 14 Fairfield by Marriott hotels already opened across five prefectures in the country.
