Western Australia is soon to welcome its newest island accommodation, Samphire Rottnest, the highly anticipated new address from The Prendiville Group, due to open on Rottnest Island in October 2020.
A quick ferry ride, and then a short, inspiring walk along the bay, Samphire Rottnest takes prime position on Thomson Bay next door to the iconic Hotel Rottnest, the number one social hub on the island.
Embracing the essence of the island, Samphire Rottnest will encourage guests to immerse themselves in the elements, feel the sand between their toes, become blissfully at one with the salt air and the unique, native beauty of Rottnest Island. Much like its namesake the native Samphire plants, found on the island – regenerative, long living and conjuring a sense of wellness.
Samphire Rottnest is set within one of Australia’s most magnificent protected areas, Rottnest Island, and respecting the natural habitat of this A Class Reserve was paramount. The 80 room architecturally designed accommodation celebrates and complements its raw, natural surroundings to deliver an experience of barefoot, respectful, understated luxury.
Designed by leading Perth architects Christou Design Group, the Samphire Rottnest design embraces and advances this established coastal vernacular. With the lagoon-like pools, native landscaping and outdoor dining all embracing the island’s Mediterranean climate and natural beauty. The materials and relaxed colour palette are inspired by the rugged coastlines and native flora of the island.
The rooms invite the relaxed, coastal vibe in with 64 generous 30m² guest rooms and 16 x 45-57m² rooms positioned at the front-row, all with private balconies overlooking an array of vantage points around the property and Thomson Bay.
Designed with the guest experience in mind, Samphire Rottnest invites guests to unwind in the protected outdoor terraces and courtyards. The rooms are appointed for comfort with an array of bedding types – pale wood paneled walls, breezy linen curtains and sisal matting giving way to stone bathroom finishes and quality local amenities. A locally sourced mini bar and Smart TV, as well as complimentary wifi throughout.
Beyond the in-room amenities, Samphire Rottnest includes dining options that form a key part of the experience including an indoor/outdoor dining hub, Beach Club, lounge and poolside offerings, delivering a communal place for guests to enjoy.
Unique conference and event spaces link in with the legendary venue next door, Samphire Rottnest can offer intimate fireside dinners to outdoor extravaganzas, most with ocean views. The diverse events spaces and offerings mean that Samphire Rottnest will have the capacity for a range of celebrations, weddings and conferencing.
To round out their wellness theme, Samphire Rottnest will offer a personalised ‘activities coordinator providing a gateway to active outdoor adventure as well as laid back island activities, plus a number of fitness collaborations which are soon to be announced.
