Meyer Jabara Hotels (MJH) is pleased to announce that the Cambria Hotel Boston, Downtown-South Boston is now open.
The 159-room hotel, located at 6 West Broadway, is the first hotel to open in “Southie” and the second hotel to be operated in Boston by MJH; the company also owns and operates a Cambria Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pa.; White Plaines, N.Y.; and a property in Morristown, N.J., is under construction. A ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by franchisor Choice Hotels International Inc. (NYSE: CHH), was held Nov. 14 to commemorate the grand opening.
“The Cambria Hotel Boston is open for business and guests are marveled by the facility from the moment they walk through the doors,” said Justin Jabara, MJH VP of Development and Acquisitions. “Together with owner City Point Capital, Qianlong Property Development and RODE Architects, we are introducing the Cambria brand to South Boston. This upscale hotel designed for a modern business traveler is the first in the market to feature a 4,000-square-foot rooftop bar and lounge that offers breathtaking, unobstructed city views. The design reflects the flavor of Boston and appeals to a variety of modern travelers preferring urban accommodations. It also boasts all the hallmarks of the Cambria brand that loyal guests have come to expect. We are eager to show off the property’s beautiful rooms, great food, and beverage at Six West, and top-notch amenities to everyone visiting Southie. The Meyer Jabara team is standing ready to welcome guests and deliver one-of-a-kind, truly memorable experiences.”
The Cambria Hotel Boston boasts a unique design and ideal location. The public areas are wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows and feature natural elements — such as digital projections of trees on walls that change with the seasons, stone floors and oversized wood treatments — to bring the city’s ties to nature and the nearby Harbor to life. The lobby lounge mirrors a speakeasy with antique books, 20th-century typewriters, marble finishes, and hues of emerald green throughout the lobby, restaurant, and bar.
Stylish guest rooms, featuring walnut-finished platform beds with plush linens, modern fixtures, abundant lighting, and spa-like bathrooms. Each guestroom is also uniquely adorned with quotes from famous New England literature, such as The Scarlet Letter and The Bell Jar, and master Massachusetts-based storytellers including Henry David Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. The hotel also boasts multifunction event space for up to 200 people; an onsite bar and café with outdoor seating; and, a 2,400-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center.
“Everyone who has seen this hotel absolutely loves the product and the brand,” said General Manager Bernardo Gubert. “We’ve got a saying: ‘Experience Southie, Explore Everywhere.’ That’s because guests can get anywhere in Boston from this location; the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Red Line T Station is directly next door. We’re within walking distance to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and the Seaport District which offers numerous shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. The bottom line is this hotel is a superior product at an attractive price point. It’s open, visible, accessible and technology-driven.
“Even more important than our stunning design, enviable amenities and convenient location is the fact that this hotel is managed by Meyer Jabara Hotels,” Gubert said. “It’s the MJ difference — from the guest experience upon arrival and the heart connections that our engaged staff will make with guests to the knowledge that our company has of the Boston market and their successful track record or operating Cambria hotels — that will truly set this hotel up for success. It takes a one-of-a-kind management company with exceptional people and an unsurpassed culture to deliver a one-of-a-kind stay experience. I am proud to say that’s what we are offering today at the Cambria Hotel Boston.”
