About Mongolian experiences
Traditional Mongolian culture can be found throughout the hotels’ “Desert on the Left, Grassland on the Right” summer experiences. Upon arrival at Shangri-La Hotel, Baotou or Shangri-La Hotel, Huhhot, guests are warmly welcomed with the offering of a hada (a traditional ceremonial blue silk scarf) and a bowl of milk tea, while welcome fruits and turndown amenities in the room also reflect Mongolian elements of hospitality.
Children’s rooms are available for families. When visiting Inner Mongolia, guests are encouraged to do as the locals do, such as savouring fresh beef and mutton, and drinking milk tea or wine in large bowls. Shang Palace is the best choice to experience local signature dishes like Prairie Boiled Mutton and Roasted Lamb Chops. Xin Cafe offers a wide range of buffet options, from the local delicacy of Boiled Lamb with Scallions to seafood and sushi.
