In his new role, Santander Habif will oversee the management and operations of the destination’s first wellness resort and adults-only property located along the Baja California coast.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alejandro to Mailena at such a pivotal moment ahead of our opening,” said Luz Maria Torres, developer of Danzante Bay. “His extensive experience in hotel operations and commitment to outstanding service make him uniquely suited to bring Mailena’s vision to life. His leadership will be instrumental as we introduce a new benchmark for wellness-driven hospitality in Loreto.”
A seasoned hospitality executive with extensive international experience, Santander Habif brings a strong track record of leading luxury resorts, driving operational excellence and elevating guest satisfaction. Most recently, he served as managing director at Royal Isabela in Puerto Rico, where he oversaw operations for the five-star resort while championing sustainability initiatives and strategic service enhancements. Hehas also held general manager positions across prominent properties throughout Mexico and the United States, including Villa La Valencia Resort, Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta and Congress Hall Hotel. In addition, he served as director of the Mexico Tourism Board in San Diego, where he developed strategic marketing initiatives that strengthened destination visibility and industry partnerships.
“It’s a privilege to lead Mailena at such an exciting moment,” said Santander Habif. “We look forward to introducing a wellness destination where inspired design, personalized experiences and genuine hospitality come together to create something truly transformative.”
Set amidst the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and the Sea of Cortez within the 741-acre Danzante Bay community, Mailena will feature 95 thoughtfully designed guest rooms including suites, casitas and one-bedroom penthouses; an oceanfront pool; beach club; panoramic dining venues; and access to the award-winning TPC Danzante Bay golf course.
