Now in its fifth year, and off the back of being named Best Hotel in Oceania in The World’s 50 Best Hotels last year, The Calile Hotel remains committed to delivering the best possible hospitality experience for its discerning guests.
With a career spanning more than 18 years in the industry, Chris’ reputation for delivering elevated customer service and driving business success will stand him in good stead to lead The Calile team.
Having worked in Crown Resorts for 14 years, Chris says there weren’t many hotels in Australia that would’ve been able to spark his interest like The Calile did.
“I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing luxury brands and hotel openings however, when this opportunity came up, I had to jump at the chance. Not only is Queensland a beautiful place to bring up a young family, but The Calile is a stunning property with a team that are equally passionate about representing the brand.”
“My job will be to take a guest approach, people approach and a business approach to make sure we have the right systems and operational processes in place,” he said. “This, in turn, will further enhance the already highly regarded guest experience and take us to the next level.”
TFE Hotels’ Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, said Chris’ exceptional leadership skills, attention to detail and service, along with his commercial acumen, were a strong fit for The Calile.
“It takes a dedicated team to continually deliver elevated guest experiences across rooms, conferencing, events and F&B,” he said. “And Chris’ experience in the luxury sector is certainly a welcome addition to the team.”
Kemlo, who started at The Calile last month, has previously held leadership positions with Crown Resorts in Melbourne and, more recently, with Crown Towers Sydney. His pre-opening contributions to Sofitel Queenstown and the Crown Melbourne and Crown Sydney hotels were instrumental in the successful establishment and launch of these luxury properties.
