The Logan, Philadelphia’s Hotel, has announced the promotion of Jessica Bauer to General Manager. A Philadelphia native, Bauer has been with the property since 2007, most recently serving as Director of Sales and Marketing since 2016. Bauer’s new role entails overall management of the property including profitability, guest service, product quality, and cleanliness and maintenance.

Situated in the vibrant, downtown cultural district of Philadelphia, The Logan is a bold, artful and irresistibly inviting urban retreat, with 391 guest rooms and suites, and offering juxtapositions of modern and traditional, creating luxury in a tasteful, timeless rendition. Guests can marvel at the hotel’s expansive 1,800-piece collection of locally sourced one-of-a-kind art, enjoy the Underground Spa, indoor heated pool, 24-hour fitness area, small plates and refreshing cocktails overlooking unrivaled views at rooftop bar Assembly, locally and responsibly sourced ingredients reimagining the traditional steakhouse at Urban Farmer, a freshly brewed coffee at the cozy Commons Cafe, or light bites and cocktails by the fireplace at Commons Lounge. An easy stroll from the Barnes Foundation and Rittenhouse Square, blocks from the Franklin Institute and one mile from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Liberty Bell, The Logan captures the city’s independent spirit and history through detailed designs that infuse old-world high-society and urban industrialism with historical references and colonial inspirations.

Bauer has spent almost 17 years at the property, holding several roles prior to and following its transition from Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia to The Logan Hotel in 2015. Beginning as a Group Sales Manager, Bauer moved up the ranks as Group and Corporate Sales Manager, Director of Sales, and her immediate previous position as Director of Sales and Marketing. Her passion for the city and the property is evident in her success and notable achievements.

“She brings strong knowledge of the local market, and after nearly 17 years in the building, knows the team and hotel inside and out,” says JoAnn Wrenn, Vice President, Premier Collection at Sage Hospitality. “In her time as Director of Sales & Marketing she was instrumental in driving revenues for continued growth in market share and profit year-over-year, helping the hotel to win Hotel of the Year and Sales Team of the Year in 2018.”

Throughout her career, Bauer boasts many accomplishments including being awarded “Torch Bearer” by Sage Hospitality in 2022. The “Torch Bearer” is Sage’s top honor, recognizing a leader who exemplifies Sage’s core values while driving sales performance. Bauer and her team have also earned The Logan several national accolades such as Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Award, Philadelphia Style’s “Best of Philly,” and Elite Traveler’s World’s Finest Suites, all in 2023.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to take on the role of General Manager at The Logan, a place I’ve called home for nearly 17 years,” said Jessica Bauer, General Manager. “I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that come with this position, and most importantly, leading the team to deliver authentic and memorable experiences that make The Logan a truly special destination for guests and locals.”

Bauer was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended Temple University, earning a Bachelor of Science from the School of Tourism and Hospitality. During her final year at Temple, Bauer joined The Ritz-Carlton team at their Philadelphia property as a Market Research Analyst & Group Sales Coordinator, and joined the Four Seasons in 2007, now home of The Logan.
