Nicholas Untermann named Resort Manager of Terranea Resort

Terranea Resort – a luxury 102-acre oceanfront resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula – has been named Nicholas Untermann’sNicholas Untermann resort manager. Untermann is charged with overseeing all aspects of the world-class resort, including front desk, concierge, valet, and housekeeping operations as well as the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa, retail, and nine dining venues. He will assist with employee training and coaching, as well as supervise experiential activities throughout the resort, including ocean, land, and art adventures.

According to Ralph Grippo, president of Terranea, Untermann brings an exceptional background in luxury hotel operations to Terranea and has worked at high-profile properties throughout Central and Southern California including Ojai Valley Inn and Bacara Resort & Spa, an ultra-luxury property in Santa Barbara. “Nicholas has an excellent track record in many facets of hotel management – from housekeeping to rooms to front desk management,” Grippo added. “He is the right professional to oversee day-to-day hotel operations as we work to further establish Terranea as Southern California’s premier oceanfront destination resort.”

With more than 10 years of experience in the luxury hotel arena, he has additionally worked in managerial roles at such esteemed hotels as the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, and L’Auberge Del Mar and served as director of beach village operations at the historic Hotel del Coronado.

Untermann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Arizona’s Prescott College.
