Australian International Hotel Company, TFE Hotels, has announced the appointment of Brian Delaney to their executive leadership team in the role of Chief Financial Officer.
The appointment comes as TFE Hotels continues its global expansion with the SE Asian debut of Adina Singapore Orchard this month; the announcement of a boutique-style Collection by TFE Hotels’ property within the TOGA group’s $200 million mixed-used project in Sydney’s Surry Hills; the expansion of its European portfolio by almost 50%; and more than 10 in the pipeline including Adina Pentridge Melbourne and Vibe Hotel Adelaide in the next 6 months.
Irish-born Delaney joins TFE Hotels direct from Minor International PCL (MINT) where he spent 9 years – most recently as Chief Financial Officer for the group, where he oversaw the hospitality, restaurant and lifestyle businesses; supporting MINT to grow to be one of the largest hospitality companies in the Asia Pacific region.
Brian has extensive operational experience having previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Minor Hotel Group Ltd; Chief Financial Officer at Oaks Hotels, Resorts and suites and Head-Fund Accounting at AMP Capital Holdings in Sydney. Prior to this, Brian spent a number of years in the Financial Services sector with Helaba, J.P. Morgan and Citibank in his native Ireland.
TFE Hotels Chief Executive Officer, Antony Ritch said he looked forward to welcoming Brian to TFE’s growing Global Leadership Team.
“Brian is a commercially focused, strategic and technically skilled leader with an impressive track record in finance transformation in multi-national corporations, both inside and out of the tourism sector,” Antony said. “We are very pleased to welcome him to the TFE family and believe his international industry experience will provide strong financial leadership as we continue to build our story as Australia’s International Hotel Company.”
In his new role, Brian will oversee all global financial matters of the group, working with the Leadership team to execute an ambitious growth agenda including seven brands – A by Adina, Adina Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Quincy Hotels, Travelodge Hotels, Rendezvous and Collection by TFE Hotels – in six countries, with additional markets on the horizon.
“TFE has emerged from the pandemic with a mission to take Australian hospitality to the world,” Antony said. “So, with every new product we have announced – and we have opened 19 hotels over the past three years – we have moved towards flagship assets and the delivery of high-quality hospitality.”
“We are also continuing to build strong global leadership teams.”
A Chartered Accountant by trade, Brian holds a Master of Accounting from the University College Dublin Graduate Business School and a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Having been at the financial helm of a global hospitality business, Brian knows the challenges the hotel industry has faced and understands the great opportunities that lie ahead.
“I’m passionate about working with great people and building great businesses, focusing on maximising performance and creating value,” Brian said. “And I’m very excited to be joining Antony and the wider TFE Hotels team as we propel the global growth of the business.”
Brian will relocate to TFE Hotel’s Sydney headquarters later this month.
