Anthony Lark, Executive Director of HMD Asia who own and manage Shinta Mani Hotels, has announced the appointment of Ewan Taylor as the new General Manager for the recently reopened luxury Shinta Mani Angkor and Bensley Collection Pool Villas in Siem Reap, Cambodia; designed and co-owned by acclaimed designer Bill Bensley.
Born in Cape Town South Africa, Ewan has a deep knowledge and experience of the hospitality industry that he brings to his new role. After studying at the prestigious Glion Institute of Hospitality Management in Switzerland and moving to Sri Lanka in 2009, he has worked in senior management roles in some of Asia’s top boutique hotels. These include the Galle Fort Hotel in Sri Lanka, Seven Terraces Hotel in Penang Malaysia, Villa Samadhi in Kuala Lumpur, X2 Chiang Mai Riverside Resort Chiang Mai Thailand and the Villa Samadhi Singapore & Tamarind Hill Restaurant. His most recent role prior to joining Shinta Mani Angkor and Bensley Collection Pool Villas Siem Reap was as pre-opening General Manager for the Jati Island Resort Phnom Penh Cambodia, managed by HMD Asia, which will open later this year.
Charming and personable, Ewan is a passionate, hands-on General Manager who genuinely enjoys meeting and knowing each of his guests as their personal host. While leading the hotel operations he is also deeply respectful of the local culture and well-being of his team. He is equally passionate about the Shinta Main Foundation which is at the heart of everything Shinta Mani Hotels do to help the local communities in which they operate.
