Following the recent appointment of global hotelier Mr. Roberto Pelliccia as Vice President of Development and Operations – Asia & Africa, Mr. Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts Group is delighted to announce the appointment of another veteran and well-known professional Mr. Amir Ahmad Mohamad as Director – Development – Vietnam and welcomes him to his executive team.
Amir is an accomplished hotelier who holds a master’s degree in Hospitality Management and brings with him over 30 years of experience in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries across the ASEAN region.
His various achievements have earned him numerous prestigious individual and professional awards, for and on behalf of the properties he managed, including the American Express Service Excellence Award, Mayors Commendation Awards, Ministerial Award from the Minister of Culture Sports, Tourism, and the Hospitality Superstar Award from Asia Pacific Tourism & Travel Federation.
Besides his professional responsibilities, Amir dedicates much of his free time in voluntary social works in Vietnam and Indonesia. He has authored and published a book for young hoteliers and aspiring future industry’s key players, which has been very well received in Vietnam’s progressively growing hospitality industry at large, and he is currently working on his 2nd book which is expected to be released before the end of this year.
Based in Ho Chi Minh, in his role Amir leads the business development across Vietnam and is responsible to spearhead an increased Cygnett Hotels & Resorts footprint in the country.
Currently, the group manages and operates – under 11 distinctively different brands, that cater for a wide spectrum of different clientele, business partners, and owners’ needs, over 1500 keys across 33 locations in India and Nepal, including 15 in pre-opening, and is actively working on opportunities to establish its presence in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Cygnett is a tech-savvy hotel company evolved as an aggrandized hospitality group with its powerful multi- brand portfolio, delivering Cygnetture experience through constant innovation while expanding boundaries.
