Mauna Kea Resort is excited to announce new hire news from Hawaii Island’s Mauna Kea Resort, which has officially welcomed Micah Akau as Marketing & Public Relations Manager!
A native of the Hāmākua Coast and graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Akau brings over 5 years of marketing, communications and sales experience in Hawaii’s hospitality industry to his new role. Akau began his career as Marketing & Media Coordinator at Mauna Kea Resort in 2016, followed by positions with Anthology Marketing Group and DeSilva Meeting Consultants. Most recently, Akau was a Senior Account Executive at Miceli Valenti Ng Pack (MVNP) where he oversaw marketing, public relations and website efforts for several Hawaii-based hospitality clients. At Mauna Kea Resort, Akau will manage public relations and marketing initiatives for both Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort.
