Caruso, one of the largest and most admired privately held real estate development companies in the U.S., announced today the appointment of Philipp Posch as Senior Vice President of Hospitality.
Building off the success of Caruso’s first resort, Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, Posch will be responsible for the management and growth of the company’s hospitality portfolio including identifying new business opportunities within hotels and resorts.
Rosewood Miramar Beach opened last year as a natural extension of the company’s commitment to hospitality and providing unparalleled guest experiences – a signature of its globally recognized retail portfolio which includes Palisades Village, The Americana at Brand and Los Angeles’ iconic destination The Grove.
“Philosophically, hospitality has always been the heart and soul of our business,” said Rick Caruso, Founder and CEO of Caruso. “Rosewood Miramar Beach opened to global acclaim last year, reinforcing the significant area of opportunity and growth this sector represents for us. Philipp will play a critical role in driving our strategy forward and we are excited for him to join our team.”
Posch joins Caruso from Equinox Hotels where he held the role of General Manager for the group’s highly-anticipated Hudson Yards property which opened to widespread acclaim from media and visitors alike. Prior to Equinox, Posch spent over a decade with Trump Hotels, where, under his leadership, Trump Chicago achieved a Forbes Five Star rating and its restaurant was awarded two Michelin Stars. He later transitioned to Trump International Hotel & Tower in Vancouver where, as General Manager, he achieved a Forbes Five Star rating for the hotel in just 10 months.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Philipp Posch to our team at Caruso,” said Jackie Levy, Chief Business Offer. “He brings with him a passion for hospitality alongside unique experience and expertise in the field. With his proven track record of opening and managing world-class properties, we are confident he will play a central role in building and executing a strategic plan to grow our hospitality business and further elevate service levels across our diverse asset classes.”
The appointment of Posch coincides with the one-year anniversary of the opening of Rosewood Miramar Beach. The beachfront resort opened as the first ultra-luxury resort in Southern California to offer guestrooms set directly over the sand, and strengthened Caruso’s reputation as a best-in-class hospitality company committed to offering one-of-a-kind experiences and services to its guests.
“It is an honor to join Caruso during this time of unprecedented growth,” added Philipp Posch, Senior Vice President of Hospitality. “I look forward to working alongside Caruso’s outstanding team and together, expanding the company’s hospitality footprint.”
