Cabot, developer and operator of a diverse collection of residential, resort, golf club and master-planned communities, announced today that esteemed industry expert, Allan Scoler, has been appointed Vice President, Development & Construction.
In this role, Scoler will lead design, development and construction for Cabot as the brand expands its portfolio from Nova Scotia to Saint Lucia and eyes future growth opportunities. Widely known as one of the best golf resorts in the world, Cabot Links is currently developing its highly-anticipated second phase with a collection of new residences, a short course, putting course, clubhouse and health and wellness center—all overlooking the dramatic coastal landscape of Cape Breton Island. Cabot Saint Lucia broke ground last summer and will include a masterful Coore and Crenshaw designed 18-hole golf course, a stunning collection of residences and a boutique resort with an array of first-rate amenities.
Scoler brings to his new position over twenty years of experience managing all aspects of development, design and construction for premier hospitality, real estate and leisure projects around the world. His broad international leadership spans over 50 projects across Canada, the U.S., UK, Europe, Russia, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Most recently, Scoler was consulting with developers and investors on project feasibility and working with a private architectural firm on development for urban hotels. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Design and Construction for the Americas at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where he worked for nearly 20 years managing design and planning on all new builds and major capital projects. He got his start as a project manager with Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Scoler holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design from North Dakota State University. He also holds a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University.
“Allan has a distinguished track record working with some of the finest properties in the world,” said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and Co-founder of Cabot. “I am excited to welcome him to the Cabot team and know he will be a great asset as we thoughtfully expand our portfolio.”
